Letting Go to Move Forward

I first heard of “Wherever I go, there I am” on Adam Quiney’s podcast, “The Transformational Leader.” Today, I finally took the time to look it up and stumbled upon Bruce Kasanoff’s reflections on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book ‘Wherever You Go, There You Are: Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life’, which captured how I’ve been feeling lately.

After making some significant changes in my life, I often find myself reflecting on what I might need to let go of. Reflective practice has been such a gift, and I’m so grateful for my coach and the wisdom shared by my wonderful podcaster- and real-life friends. I recently discovered a fantastic IFS group, and I’ve also been introduced to a form of meditation that resonates with me. I’m wholeheartedly trying to do the work because I want to be the one who journeys forward, shedding as much baggage as possible along the way.

Some days, it feels like I’m just sojourning—thank you, David Whyte, for introducing us to this beautiful concept on your Three Sundays lectures!

Bruce Kasanoff’s words remind me that, while our surroundings may change, the truth remains: “Wherever I go, there I am.”
