Exam preparation for GCSE, iGCSE, A-Level, and IB German
I support students studying GCSE, iGCSE, A-Level, and IB German, helping them prepare for exams with clarity and confidence.
Lessons focus on developing secure language foundations alongside exam technique. This includes building vocabulary and grammar, practising speaking and writing, improving listening and reading skills, and understanding how marks are awarded. Sessions are structured but responsive, adapting to the learner’s strengths, challenges, and goals.
I aim to reduce anxiety around exams by helping students understand what is expected of them and by supporting them to feel more confident in their own ability.
German for learners with German roots
I work with learners who have German roots and would like to develop their confidence and fluency in the language. Some want to reconnect with German spoken in their family, others want to strengthen grammar, expand vocabulary, or feel more comfortable speaking and understanding the language in everyday situations.
Sessions are shaped around what the learner already brings with them, including prior knowledge, lived experience, and personal motivation. We work at a pace that feels supportive and purposeful, with space for questions, reflection, and genuine understanding.
My aim is to help learners build a meaningful relationship with the language that feels relevant, enjoyable, and sustainable over time.
German for adult learners
I work with adult learners who have a love for learning German, whether they are beginners, returning to the language after many years, or looking to deepen their existing knowledge.
Lessons can be one to one or in small groups and take place online or in person. Together, we decide what feels most important, such as conversation, grammar, reading, or everyday language for travel and life. Sessions are calm, engaging, and tailored to individual interests and learning styles.
My focus is on creating an enjoyable learning experience where adults feel supported, challenged appropriately, and encouraged to grow in confidence over time.
About me
I have Austrian heritage and grew up in Germany. I have been teaching German in the UK since 2005 and have led Languages departments from my third year in the profession.
I am deeply passionate about teaching and helping learners find their own relationship with the language. I love the subject, and that enthusiasm shapes my sessions. They are engaging, thoughtful, and always adapted to the needs of the learner.
Alongside my teaching experience, I am also a trained coach and mentor. I bring those skills into my work by listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and supporting learners to take ownership of their learning.
I have worked in grammar schools, independent schools, inner city schools, rural schools, and adult education settings. Across all of these contexts, I have learned that learners are learners. When people understand the value of what they are learning, they engage. My role is to work alongside them to uncover what really matters to them and to build learning around that.
